About Sensei James Clark
The martial arts magic of Bruce Lee on the widescreen began Sensei James Clark’s lifelong affair with Tae Kwon Do in the late 1970s.
The desire to become a Black Belt led James Clark to begin his formal training in 1980 at Louisiana Tech University under Sensei Dr.David Jordan. Under Sensei Dr.Jordan’s guidance, he became a black belt and helped lead his Louisiana Tech Karate Team to three consecutive national championships in 1982, 1983, and 1984. In addition to his collegiate championships, Sensei Clark’s has more than 100 first place wins in kumite and has been crowned National and World Champion in the 1980’s and 1990’s
Sensei Clark’s roots in teaching and working with kids run deep as he has taught TaeKwonDo, rifle, youth softball and basketball during the greater portions of three decades. Sensei Clark has trained and promoted students to the black belt level and has produced national and world champions. He also hosts and promotes the Texas State Karate Championship Tournament as well as served as chief referee for others. His focus on the fundamental values of the martial arts, teaching life skills, self discipline, focus, respect, goal setting, and character building show in the success of his students and the respect afforded him in the Martial Arts circles.
Sensei Clark received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University, was employed as a police officer and narcotics agent in Shreveport Louisiana and was also employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Huntsville Texas.
Sensei Clark is a member and chief referee of the United States Karate Alliance (USKA), Texas State Representative and has been named to the Atlee Chittim Roll of Honor and the Louisiana Black Belt Hall of Fame. He is currently the owner and operator of Pearland Family Tae Kwon Do AKA: “The Dojo Fit Club” and host of the Young Dragons After School and Summer Camp program for youth. His goal is to elevate the mental and physical health of each of his students, young or mature, through the structure of modern material art Sensei James Clark takes to heart his motto of “developing quality and reliable citizens, one black belt at a time.”
